Annual State Of The Teams (We're no sorry sacks)

Bob Ryan's annual State Of The Teams report. He's says this year, we have nothing to complain about and "I don't want to hear any whining." Below are some links to the previous year's as well...

I wish I could get more of these yearly articles, but can find them for free online... The classic Ryan one was from the late 90's when his usual face-next-to-the-column drawing, had a sack over his head because the teams were all in such dissary. I'm going to say it was the Dec. 1998 issue.... Happy New Year! Here's to another graduation party in (May?!) 2006!

Munich

New York Post review from Dec. 20th calls it "essential viewing". The Boston Globe says you should 'Take it (the film) as historical fact at your peril' in the Dec. 23 edition.

From the beginning, "Munich," Spielberg's most politically challenging work, has been shrouded in secrecy. No journalists were permitted to visit the set during its production; filming locations included Malta, Hungary, France and New York. - Chicago Tribune

TAKE HIM!

Just leave New England photos of Michelle...It'll be a loss for one year, then it won't matter. And, any ball hit into the left centerfield gap will have to be relayed, from Damon, to Matusi, to the shortstop... Joe Torre should break out the Tom Emansky video tape series in Tampa this March to help them out! My question is who will the Sox get in 2007 to play CF, THAT will be the real test. You don't want to make a stupid trade (like the Bruins did w/ Thornton) just to get a name. Sox have good pitching, and THAT wins championships. Has everyone forgotten that Schilling will be back, hopefully, at 2004 form. The only thing Bob Ryan fails to mention in his article from Thursday, is that of all teams to sign with, Benedict Johnny signed went with the Yankees! For that, he SHOULD be pegged in the head on May 1 when he returns to Boston.

Seeking a return to glory

Team committed to reclaiming past success

By Bob Ryan, Globe Columnist | December 13, 2005

In the first of a two-part series, NBA Hall of Fame honoree Bob Ryan -- once dubbed the de facto commissioner of basketball -- offers his thoughts on the relevance today of the 16-time world champion Celtics, and whether the franchise that defined greatness can ever return to the glory days.

Vikings typify mediocrity till Tice exits

A great counter-point to the contention that Vikings coach Mike Tice should be Coach of the Year...

Here's to hoping he DOESN'T get the award.
